CREATIVE WRITING

Erin Fetters is a graduate of California State University at Fullerton with a Masters degree from Nova Southeastern University. She has danced in college repertory companies at both Humboldt State University and CSU Fullerton, as well as local jazz and modern companies. She has competed in Irish step dancing, both as a Championship level solo dancer and in team dances at the local, regional and national levels. Most recently, she has studied hip-hop dancing at Culture Shock San Diego and has attended workshops with such contemporary dance greats as Brian Friedman, Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio and Wade Robson. She began teaching at SDSCPA in 1996 and has taught English, History and Drama as well as Dance and Creative Writing. She has worked on numerous Main Stage productions at SDSCPA, ranging from choreographer on shows such as Peter Pan, Bye, Bye, Birdie, Footloose, Grease, Macbeth, Othello, Much Ado, The Hot Mikado, and RENT to directing previous performances of Into the Woods, South Pacific, The King and I and Kiss Me, Kate. Her most recent production was acting in tandem with Ms. Roxane Carrasco to co-direct and co-choreograph the smash hit, Chicago. She joined the Creative Writing department three years ago and works with our aspiring, young middle school authors. She is the current Senior Class advisor, is on the Instructional Leadership Team as well as a member of the Governance Team.

As an SCPA and San Diego Junior Theatre Alumna, Bridget seeks to thread student arts passions through the English Core standards. She has served as Department Chair, WASC Coordinator, Impact Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator and Using Data Project Facilitator, and is credentialed in English and CTE Performing Arts. Outside of campus, you may have found her in the lighting booth of the Ocean Beach Playhouse or in the waves at dog beach.

Lynda E. Young received her Bachelor of Arts in Literatures of the World from the University of California, San Diego. Her own secondary education included four years in an award-winning S.C.P.A. dance program and an additional two years as a Drama and Musical Theatre major. Her work as a community volunteer and activist led her to San Diego S.C.P.A., where she completed her teaching credential under one of its most beloved English Language Arts educators at the time: Timothy Farson. For almost a decade, she has strived to provide rigorous E.L.A. education for budding middle school artists, and she hopes to continue serving them for many years to come.
